Office of Consumer Affairs and Technical Assistance

Mission statement:
The Idaho Office of Consumer Affairs & Technical Assistance serves as a vehicle for building a statewide consumer network, providing peer support, and educational assistance to consumers and expanding the participation of consumers in all aspects of the public mental health system.

The office of Consumer Affairs & Technical Assistance purpose is to develop consumers’ capacity to advocate for themselves and for other consumers for a consumer-driven recovery-focused mental health system.

National Consensus Statement on Mental Health Recovery
The Idaho Office of Consumer Affairs & Technical Assistance agrees with the National Consensus Statement on Mental Health Recovery that ”Mental health recovery is a journey of healing and transformation enabling a person with a mental health problem to live a meaningful life in a community of his or her own choice while striving to achieve his or her full potential.
