Idaho
Partnership for Hispanic Mental Health Funded through the National
Institutes of Mental Health, this project's Phase one planning includes 240
individual interviews with Hispanic adults in Ada and Canyon counties to
determine their perceptions and beliefs about mental illness and behaviors
regarding mental health treatment and 35 key informant interviews with southwest
Idaho mental health service providers. The project's findings,
supplemented by secondary data research, will be used to prioritize
infrastructure development and capacity building actions to respond to
Hispanics' mental health service needs. This phase will result in the
development of an intervention grant that will be submitted for funding
consideration.
