Women’s Business Center Manager: Boise, ID. The Women’s Business Center was established in 2011 to provide business technical assistance, training and advising primarily to women in five southwest Idaho counties. The WBC Manager leads and directs the activities of the WBC including supervision of Center staff, managing budgets, establishing and networking with community partners, reporting, tracking and ensuring outcomes of the Women’s Business Center. The WBC is funded through a contract with the Small Business Administration. The manager will be responsible for all aspects of compliance with this contract, ensuring the delivery of and access to quality services to clients including socially and economically disadvantaged women, and for all reporting requirements of the contract. The manager also works with an Advisory Council who is focused on meeting monetary and in-kind contributions from the community for the WBC. This is a full-time benefit eligible position.
Suicide Prevention Hotline Volunteer: Volunteer Opportunity, The Idaho suicide Prevention Hotline is being created by many partners in the community, and the call center will be up and running in mid-November. Idaho is currently the only state without a statewide, nationally certified hotline and has been since 2006; Idaho also has the 4th highest suicide rate in the country. In order to assist those in need, we are looking for volunteers to staff the call center. Initially, the hours will be from 9am-5pm, and transitioning to 24 hours during our second year. As a volunteer you will receive Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) which is a 2 day course that does count for CEUs. There will also be a one day training over special topics and another half day of training on general information and procedures.
We are asking for a 4 hour per week commitment for one year. We will be having periodic information sessions if you are interested in volunteering.
