BULGARIAN AND U.S. UNIVERSITY
EXCHANGE PROGRAM
Premise:
As our world becomes more globally connected, it is
essential that university faculty and students engage in
the international community. Exchange of expertise and
exposure to other cultures lead to a richer education and
a more prepared workforce. Bulgaria’s deep cultural
history, combined with its future as an emerging
democracy, present a unique opportunity for U.S. and
Bulgarian students, scholars and professionals.
Program
Purpose: The Bulgaria – U.S. Educational Exchange
will expand and improve medical education at participating
universities, offer a forum for sharing resources on
health care improvement, and foster the appreciation of
Bulgarian and U.S. cultures.
Potential
Program Activities: Activities will be driven by the
interests of the collaborative partners, and may include
overseas faculty symposia and consultation, shared
curricula development, faculty exchange, student study
abroad, joint research studies, and exchange of technical
assistance resources and materials.

The Bulgaria Educational Exchange Program currently
includes, but is not limited, to the following partners:

States Group, Inc., a private nonprofit organization
headquartered in Boise, Idaho.

Foundation, a non-governmental organization located in
Sofia, Bulgaria.
- Medical
University of Varna, Bulgaria.
- University
of Missouri - Columbia, located in
Missouri.
- Boise State
University, located in Boise, Idaho.
